Thanks to all who participated in the 2017 AFE Photo Contest! We received an excellent set of photos this year, and we had a team of 7 judges who selected an overall winner, runner up, and winners in 5 special categories.
Check out the 2017 AFE Photo Contest Winners!
Congratulations to the winners! Winning photos will be showcased at the conference and will be included in conference materials (e.g., premiums, program, screensavers) and AFE materials (e.g., websites, publications, displays).
Photographs must be the entrant’s original work, should be in color, and should be free from manipulation beyond routine color and tonal adjustments and cropping. They must be horizontal, and a minimum of 2,500 pixels wide. Resolution (PPI) does not matter. You may submit up to 3 photos for the contest.
Photos should be accompanied by a one or two sentence narrative that describes the image, and the geographic location and ecosystem in which it was taken.
Images must illustrate a principle of fire ecology, fire effects, fire management, or fire history/fire regime.
Entrants agree that AFE can publish the photo in conference materials if chosen, and that AFE can use the photo on their web site and for other marketing purposes related to the calendar contest. Credit for the photograph will be given.
By submitting photos to this contest, the entrant verifies that they have obtained and have access to all necessary releases and agrees to hold AFE harmless against all claims and liabilities arising out of AFE’s display, publication and promotion or other use of each image submitted to AFE.
