We’re holding a photo contest in conjunction with the Fire Congress. Winning photos will appear in a 12-month 2018 calendar that will be given as a premium at the event. Entrants whose images are chosen for the calendar will receive additional complimentary calendars.
You may submit your photos on our online submission form.
Please note that you will also have the option to have your photo included in AFE’s general user-submitted photo gallery, and for the photo to be considered for AFE’s general use (such as, but not limited to, conference websites, marketing, or AFE publications).
Photographs must be the entrant’s original work, should be in color, and should be free from manipulation beyond routine color and tonal adjustments and cropping. They must be horizontal, and a minimum of 2,500 pixels wide. Resolution (PPI) does not matter. You may submit up to 3 photos for the contest.
Photos should be accompanied by a one or two sentence narrative that describes the image, and the geographic location and ecosystem in which it was taken.
Images must illustrate a principle of fire ecology, fire effects, fire management, or fire history/fire regime.
Entrants agree that AFE can publish the photo in the calendar if chosen, and that AFE can use the photo on their web site and for other marketing purposes related to the calendar contest. Credit for the photograph will be given.
By submitting photos to this contest, the entrant verifies that they have obtained and have access to all necessary releases and agrees to hold AFE harmless against all claims and liabilities arising out of AFE’s display, publication and promotion or other use of each image submitted to AFE.
